Lorry Loader Crane Area Sales Manager

Reporting directly to the Branch & Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the growth in sales of Lorry Loader Cranes, including its equipment. In the main your role involves working alongside the Technical Sales Manager, selling to the already established and new customer base covered by the branch. You will be required to actively promote Ernest Doe cranes and encourage new business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To meet and exceed agreed targets of the sales and promotion of the lorry loader crane franchises
  • Dealing with customers on a day-to-day basis, both face to face, over the phone and via email
  • Manage existing customer accounts
  • Close new deals with the support of the technical sales team
  • Identify opportunities and build new relationships with customers to increase sales potential
  • Positively promote the Company image and its products
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers as required.
  • Attend training courses as required by the company to maintain satisfactory levels of compliance and understanding. Some of these may be in Italy
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe vehicle
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the company’s Health and Safety policy and follow all company procedures as outlined in the company employee handbook.

Role Requirements:

  • Good, sound knowledge of the lorry loader crane industry and its equipment, or the haulage market
  • Proven sales experience
  • Excellent customer service skills both face to face and over the telephone
  • Microsoft Excel and word skills
  • Target driven with the ability to upsell to achieve and exceed targets
  • Be self-motivated and able to work under own initiative
  • Has the ability to be influencing and persuading and able close a deal
  • Have the ability where necessary to demonstrate equipment
  • Full Driving license is required
  • Administratively organised
  • Smart & presentable appearance
  • Dependable & reliable
  • A team player-capable of working alone and with other members of the branch team
  • Computer literate
  • Maintain a good general level of health and fitness

Additional Information

  • Start Date:
    Subject to candidates notice period.
  • Hours:
    42.5hrs per week – 8am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday (1-hour unpaid lunch). Additional hours as required which may include weekends as per rota especially during peak
  • Salary:
    £Competitive, depending on experience, plus commission and company car
