Role Purpose

At Ernest Doe, we pride ourselves on fostering a hardworking, driven, and positive team culture. As a Construction Service Technician, you will be part of a dedicated group that uses cutting-edge technology, including the latest laptop diagnostics and telemetry systems, to maintain and repair construction machinery sold by our sales department.

You’ll work with leading brands such as Hyundai, Thwaites, Bomag, and more, supported by direct access to manufacturers, hands-on training, and an experienced team that thrives on innovation and excellence.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of or experience in the Construction or Agricultural industry (advantageous).
  • Skilled in diagnosing hydraulic and electrical faults using advanced software tools and delivering high-quality repairs on chargeable, warrantable, or internal jobs.
  • Comfortable handling and lifting heavy machinery, with the ability to use special tools when required.
  • A proactive team player who can also excel independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, vital for this client-facing role.
  • Proficient in computer usage, particularly diagnostic software.
  • A full, clean driver’s license.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working under pressure to meet customer demands, including long hours and weekend cover (on a rota)

Additional Information

  • Start Date:
    Immediate (subject to notice period)
  • Hours:
    39 hours per week: Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm, Friday, 8am to 4pm (1-hour unpaid lunch). Overtime paid at time and a half (Monday-Friday) or double time (Sundays/Bank Holidays).
  • Salary:
    Competitive, dependent on experience, with a company vehicle and mobile phone provided
